After a successful road trip to open ACC play at Chapel Hill, the Cavalier baseball team was set to have a one game set at home against William & Mary. A very high scoring battle Tuesday resulted in a Virginia win 9-7.

First Baseman Sam Harris led the 'Hoos Tuesday going 2-3 and hitting a DEEP homerun 462 ft to dead center. Harris finished the day with 3 RBIs. Behind him was Harrison Didawick who also had an impressive day hitting 3-5 with an RBI. Hits were also collected by Eric Becker, AJ Garcia, and Joe Tiroly.

The game took a collection of seven Virginia pitchers to get 27 outs against the Tribe. Virginia was led by started Jayden Stroman who did not concede any runs after two innings. Lucas Hartman got the win for the 'Hoos, he came in as middle relief and went two innings only giving up a hit. Tyler Kapa earned the save after closing out the final inning and a third striking out three and not giving anything up.

Virginia started the scoring early in the first inning after AJ Garcia drove Eric Becker in on a double. Garcia would go on to score on a balk by W&M pitcher Charlie Richwine. The Tribe would answer in the third after an error and some havoc on the basepaths evening the game 2-2. The fourth inning is when Virginia struck big with a five-run inning. Harris and Didawick had hits driving in runs while Joe Tiroly was hit by a pitch to drive in a run and Zach Johnson was walked to score a run. The 'Hoos would then seal it in the sixth when Tiroly and Harris both homered.

Virginia improved its record to 14-3 and is now ranked 14th in the country according to D1baseball.com's top 25 rankings.
