Famous in Our Own Minds Pick’em – Week 9: Tricks, Treats, and Truly Terrible Picks

The updated standings as we head into Halloween weekend:

👻 Jay’s Picks

Colts (-3.5) at Steelers

The Colts are cooking. Daniel Jones has turned this offense into something straight out of a video game — every major metric has Indy’s attack pacing toward historic levels. That won’t last forever, but the Steelers’ defense offers plenty of opportunities for big plays. Jay’s riding with Jones, Jonathan Taylor, and the Colts to keep rolling.

49ers (-2.5) at Giants

Mac Jones should be back under center for the Niners, and Jay expects a rebound after last week’s stumble in Houston. Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle get right against a Giants squad still reeling from Cam Skatebo’s season-ending injury. San Francisco gets back on track in the Meadowlands.

Lions (-8.5) vs. Vikings

Detroit at home might as well be a different team entirely. Jared Goff has the offense humming, and the defense feeds off the Ford Field energy. JJ McCarthy’s return adds a spark for Minnesota, but Jay’s calling for a statement win — Lions by double digits.

🎃 Jeff’s Picks

Bills (+2.5) vs. Chiefs

Allen vs. Mahomes always delivers, and Jeff says it will again. He’s rolling with the Bills at home to either win outright or lose by a point. Josh Allen gets one more touchdown than Mahomes in another instant classic.

Jaguars (-2.5) at Raiders

Both teams are fresh off the bye, but Geno Smith at quarterback for Las Vegas has been nothing short of spooky — and not the good kind. Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne should take care of business. Jeff’s confident Jacksonville wins comfortably.

Cowboys (-2.5) vs. Cardinals

Jeff’s expecting the Cowboys’ offense to bounce back at home after a tough trip to Denver. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb should light up a weak Arizona secondary. Kyler Murray’s flashes won’t be enough — Dallas by a touchdown.

💀 Jack’s Picks

Commanders (+2.5) vs. Seahawks

Because of course he did. Jack’s backing JD5 and the Commanders at home against Sam Darnold and the Seahawks — and as two lifelong Commander fans, Jay and Jeff are horrified. Given Jack’s track record, it’s hard not to feel like JSN and Sam Darnold are about to explode. If you believe in the Opposite of Jack Theory, fire up your Seahawks in fantasy and thank us later.

Bears (-2.5) at Bengals

Chicago just lost to the Ravens’ backup, and now faces Joe Flacco filling in for the injured Joe Burrow. Logic says the Bears bounce back — but with Jack picking them, that logic might get intercepted.

Panthers at Packers – Over 44.5

Jack finishes with an Over. Jordan Love and the Packers offense have been rolling since the win in Pittsburgh, and Carolina’s capable enough to keep the scoring going. The only question is whether the Panthers can hold up their end — or whether this pick joins the rest of Jack’s in the graveyard.

It’s Halloween weekend, and the Pick’em crew is desperate to shake off a few ghosts from last week. Will Jay extend his lead, will Jeff make a move, or will Jack’s haunted streak continue to terrify gamblers everywhere?
